PTA MEETING, November 12th

The next PTA meeting will be on Thursday, November 12th, at 6:45.

Please come and learn more about your organization.

The meeting will be followed immediately by the Fifth Grade Recorder performance at 7pm.

Busy Times Ahead

November is looking to be a busy, busy month around Nicholson.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunities just around the corner...most in conjunction with great activities for parents and students.

• Scholastic Book Fair Week: Nov. 16-20. Family Night at the Book Fair is Tues., Nov. 17, 5:30-7:30. Volunteers are needed each day as well as that evening. Please contact media specialist Lisa Messinger or any PTA board member for details.

• Nicholson Thanksgiving Food Drive: Help us make the holiday special. Look for more information from Ms. Hill and Ms. Insogna.

• VIP Lunches: Grades K, 2 & 4 (Wed., Nov. 18); Grades 1, 3 & 5 (Thurs., Nov. 19). Look for your invitations coming soon! At least 12 volunteers are needed each day to make it truly a great experience for all. Even an hour would be a huge help!

• Spirit Day: Fri., Nov. 20. Don't forget your $3.00 for those yummy CFA biscuits!

• Thanksgiving Break: The week of November 23rd.

October Coming to a Close

Thanks to everyone who volunteered at Carnival! Your help ensured that the even ran smoothly and everyone had a great time. :)

Lots of activities ahead this week as October winds down:

• Monday is Stevi B's night (YUM!).
• Look out! Wednesday through Friday is Penny Wars! Coordinated by our own Student Council, the proceeds from this event go to benefit the American Heart Association. Start gathering your pennies to send in beginning Wednesday, October 28th.
• This month's Spirit Day is Friday, October 30th. Wear your Nicholson colors or Nicholson shirts or bracelets. On Friday, we'll also have Chick-Fil-A biscuits available for purchase in the morning.

November is jam-packed with lots of activities. Come back to the blog to check out what's coming soon!

Carnival is Coming!!!!!!

We are looking for volunteers for our Fall Carnival/Birthday Celebration on October 16th. Please contact your room parent or any PTA Board member for more information on opportunities.

In addition to volunteers, we also need donations of baked goods for our extremely popular cake walk which is held the night of Carnival. Items can be dropped off in the office the day of the event. Thanks!!!!

September Winding Down....

September may be winding down, but there are still lots of great events for everyone to enjoy.

• Family Game Night--a night of fun and games with the Kennesaw State staff members--will be rescheduled (date TBA). The evening will start with a wonderful dinner in the Nicholson Cafe--get your dinner reservations in now. If you can't join us for dinner, come for the games after!
• Spirit Day is Friday, September 25th! Wear your Nicholson colors, shirts, and/or bracelets!
• Rain, rain, go away--don't forget, Foundation Movie night has been rescheduled for the spring, date to be announce. Come watch "Space Buddies" under the stars.

A Busy Week Ahead!

Lots of great things going on this week around Nicholson:

• Chick-Fil-A Family Night (Sprayberry location) on Tuesday--it's sure to be lots of fun!
• Don't forget to turn in your Sally Foster orders by Wednesday, September 16th.
• Come out and support the Nicholson Foundation at their Movie Night, NOW RESCHEDULED for Friday, October 2nd.

 

ALSO, we are looking for volunteers for our Fall Carnival/Birthday Celebration on October 16th. Please contact your room parent or any PTA Board member for more information on opportunities.

East Cobber Parade

Come and join us at the 14th Annual East Cobber Parade on Saturday, September 12th.

Mrs. O'Donnell and Mrs. Stevens (Teacher of the Year and Support Person of the Year) will be there leading the Nicholson Stars in this fun-filled event.

Meet in the Mount Bethel Elementary School Parking lot (1210 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta) at 8:45 a.m., Row  A, Spaces 17 and 18.  Parade step-off is 10:00 a.m.

This one-mile parade will end at the Fountains of Olde Towne Shopping Center (736 Johnson Ferry Road), where there will be a family-friendly festival with lots of food, carnival games, and live entertainment! Hope to see you there!!!!
